If you can destroy the box its easy.
Cut a small piece from the board. Trim it to a regular shape such that you know the formula for its area : a rectangle is probably best.
Measure the sides of the piece in metric units and convert these to metres (1 cm = 0.01 m, 1 mm = 0.001 m). Calculate the area in square metres.
Measure the mass of the piece, and convert to grams, if necessary.
Mass/Area = gsm.
If you cannot damage the box, the area becomes much harder to measure. You need to measure all the sides, but also all the overlaps. Add all these area together. Divide the mass of the whole [empty] box by its total area.
how to measure gram per sequare metre of silk fabric.Pls. give us
You cannot since the units for mass are grams, not grams per square metre.
That is really impossible. Square meter is an area.
The gram is a measurement of weight, and the square meter is a measurement of area.Formula:Basis Weight (in pounds) x 1406.5Basis Size (in inches)= GRAMS PER SQUARE METERTo find the Basis Size, refer to the chart in the related link.Example:Convert 25" x 38", 60 lb. Offset Paper to grams per square meter.60 x 1406.525 x 38= 88.8 Grams per square meter

135 gram flannel sheets contain 135 grams of cotton (4.76198 ounces) per square meter of fabric. 190 gram flannel sheets contain 190 grams ( 6.70205 ounces) of cotton per meter of fabric. The more grams per square meter, the heavier ( and usually softer) the sheets will be.
GSM in papermaking stands for Gram per Square Meter.
No Gram measures weight, meter measures distance
I hope this is what you're looking for:1 gram per 100 square centimeters = 100 grams per square meter
It is grams PER square metre. Paper is usually rated in GSM, with around 100 being normal printer/photocopier quality.
