William Brophy wrote a book on the history of the Marlin firearm company.

I happen to have the same rifle. I have been looking for worth and owners manuals for the gun and the only info i can find on the gun is it was made in 1983.

Yes you can. Go to numerich gun parts when I ordered mine it was to a ranger. Marlin made them for sears back years ago but it is the same gun.
I to have this gun and yes it is the same to take apart. I guess the gun was made only one year and that was in 1979.
