Best way is to grow crops and sell them. It's best when starting out that you don't worry about boarding horses, get meadows and grow crops. Also hold competitions too, which will help with prestige and comp rating when you don't have boarders. Save your money and don't hire staff just yet, unless you boarded some of your own horses, hire maybe a temp. riding instructor and vet but other then that you won't really need staff yet.
So yeah, grow lots of crops is the easiest thing. =) Also buy droppings / dung from the shop and turn it into manure then sell the manure.
