There are many ways to get rid of mosquito bites, but the fastest one in my opinion is to rub the inside of a banana peel on it. It reduces redness, swelling, irritation and itchiness. Make sure that you leave the peel on for 5-10 minutes and it will reduce swelling almost immediately.

Well, if you don't scratch it, mine go away after 2~4 days, 6 at most if they're really bad. But that's just me.

If you scratched them a little, you might be looking at 4~6...

If you scratch 'em non-stop you're looking at something that might last a week.

The entirely depends on you and how allergic you are to them. What ever you do, do not scratch them! I have literally hundreds of mosquito bites from my childhood (I lived in South East Asia) which have left scars on my legs, so I beg of you don't scratch them! You'll regret it years down the track.

For the ladies only: Your skin is made up of several layers, and 'rejuvenates' itself after a while. Shaving also 'peels' off the layers so takes longer for your scars to heel. So with bites on your legs, I found that epilating or waxing helps your skin heal a lot better. I have been epilating for a few years now, and found that the scars have practically gone!

Alternatively, dap a little bit of Vics vapour rub on them. It will soothe the itchiness I find. Try not to touch them even though I know how incredibly itchy they can get.

I have been to Vietnam, in a mountainous region called Sapa, where they cultivate rice on amazing rice terraces. While enjoying the view in the middle of a rice field, we saw hundreds of little flies on our legs and arms. We didn't mind, nor did we understand that those little beasts were biting! The next day though, our legs and arms were covered with little red dots (our first thought was bed bugs), but then it was clear that we were bitten! My partner and I reacted very differently, his bites were itching like hell while mine did not itch at all. His became very big, mine stayed rather small. 2 weeks later in Hanoi, it was a very humid day, all bites were swalling up again. Mine started itching, but it was not too bad. His bites were gone after 3 weeks, but now, 5 weeks later (!), I still have hundreds of marks on my legs. The doctor said it is a matter of time, but it was not quite reassuring. So, my question now: Does anyone have had similar experiences with fly bites? Is it normal for the marks to stay for weeks?

Mosquito bites last so long for a few reasons. One of these reasons it that it is itchy and you scratch it.

Chigger Bite Pictures Are Important for Proper Care?

Chiggers, parasitic mite larvae found in forested and grassy areas around the world, are some of the most irritating bugs to be bitten by. After walking through the woods or a lush backyard, many people find red bumps on their skin as the chiggers' digestive enzymes go to work. If these symptoms weren't bad enough, the experience leaves many people worried that their bites might be from something more sinister. By viewing chigger bite pictures, chigger victims can relax knowing their bites present no serious threat.Chigger Bites Look SevereA few hours after a chigger bite, extreme itching and redness are common, with blisters occurring in some cases. When several chigger bites are clustered in a small area, it can look like a dramatic rash has suddenly appeared, making the event seem even more mysterious and causing many people to worry. If the chigger victim suspects an incorrect cause for their malady, they might pursue an ineffective remedy to stop their symptoms. By viewing pictures of chigger bites, people can correctly identify chigger bites and respond appropriately.Chigger MythsAfter seeing pictures of chigger bites, one might suspect that the biggest myths about chiggers are true. For example, some say that chigger bite symptoms are due to the chigger having burrowed and remained under the skin; this is actually false. In addition, chiggers don't bite humans to suck blood, and they don't transmit disease, unlike mosquitoes or ticks. Finally, some people worry that an individual chigger can create several bites in one area; in reality, chiggers can bite only once before dying.Avoiding ChiggersThe best way to avoid chiggers is to eliminate or avoid their habitats. Overgrown grass should be mowed, and cleared walkways should be utilized as much as possible. Although long pants can reduce bites, they don't totally prevent them. Finally, it's a great idea to inspect chigger bite pictures online to get a firm idea of what they look like. By telling them apart from the bites of mosquitoes, ticks or spiders, it's possible to take the necessary steps to guard against the offending bug and reduce the right insect population in the vicinity.
