The term "dumb" is no longer used because it is derogatory and demeaning. A person with lower intelligence often has difficulty understanding tasks and activities that other people take for granted. For example, one person may love to read, but another person may struggle to read the simplest of words. Differences in understanding, like in that example, come about from many causes (too many to list).
People should take an interest in persons with difficulties in understanding. But it's important to remember to honor the person's dignity. Show respect. Even if the person cannot understand in one area, it doesn't mean the person doesn't understand anything.
If you would like to help, think about some of these suggestions:
If your boyfriend is dumb help him with stuff he needs help with! and help him get smarter!
If you want to help someone that needs help don't be dumb about it HELP People NOT WITH STUPID ANSWER'S!
,n. it is stupid Really, how dumb is that to write that? Obviouslly This person needs help, as do I, I have to write 13 esays on all 13 colonies.
A deaf and a dumb person can file a suit of his own in court. He however, needs to be assisted.

If a person has an artificial limb and needs help, you ask that person, "How can I help you?" He or she knows far more about such needs and techniques than I do.
A dumb dumb person!
A dumb person could be called stubborn, ignorant (not in a derogatory way), uneducated, etc. Sometimes the word dumb is used to refer to a person in a negative way. It's good to remember that we are all "dumb" about something before using dumb in that way.
A dumb person may be dumb, but a dumb person doesn't have to be weird. depends on what kind of dumb. and what kind of weird. personally, i like being both because it makes life a little more interesting:)
