keep them inside make sure they don,t go outside
Birds are usually comfortable in the same temp as we are, if you are comfortable then they should be....like a baby. Keep them as warm as you would keep yourself. They will puff up and shiver when they are too cold. If you have to use a heat lamp on birds stand with your hand on the front of the cage where the light is hitting it and wait for awhile......if your hand is not to warm then they should be ok but check on it for a bit until you are used to it.
It's a bad idea to keep a pet bird outdoors unless you live in the same climate as the bird's native habitat. Birds that live outside are vulnerable to predators (such as rats and weasels), parasites, and diseases caused by wild birds. You can let your pet bird enjoy the sounds and sights of the outdoors safely by opening windows or moving the cage for a few hours to a screened-in porch.
Many winter birds such as titmice, chickadees, finches, sparrows, doves, creepers and woodpeckers, can be fed sunflower seed. Many finches, like pine siskins and goldfinches thrive on nyjer seed as well as sunflower. Also, suet can be fed for many species, such as many listed above.
