Study for it...
I borrowed a book out of our library with practice questions and studied it, and only that, for a full week.
Once you take the practice test, you will know which areas are your weakest and you will be able to study that.
you should get the kaplan shsat lesson book and go over it.
you should also take the review tests atleast 3 times..so see how much ur improving.
if u think u cant pass it. than u should take the kaplan course for the shsat..its like 1200 bucks..
There is also this test prep course called GRF and it is really good! I know many people, including myself who have taken the course and it really works! Its around $900

You have to audition for LaGuardia to get on to it.
the SHSAT is hard, but if you study long and hard, or enter a tutoring program such as Princeton Review, you should get in. I know I did.
The DOE has made it clear starting from 2012, that all SHSAT results will be handed to the student on February 28, 2012. Your schools will be the first to receive the results.
theres no such thing as passing the shsat. Its about getting past the cut line of the school you want to go to, which, in this case is Brooklyn tech. The cutoff for 2009 was around 480, so if you received a score higher, then congratulations! The shsat has no biased entry system, so if you believe that you have been cheated of your entry, call the DOE.
To take the SHSAT is free of charge.
The lowest you can get is about 510 but not less
When varies every year, but that information should come from your high school counselor at school, so do not worry. As for where, it depends on where you live. For example, if you live in Queens, you should be taking it at Long Island High School. Manhattan students take it at Stuyvesant High School. However, please do confirm all information with your guidance counselor. If you don't ask to apply for the SHSAT with your counselor, hell will break loose. Hope that helps!
