Yes, you can remove a mole yourself with dental floss. My doctor told me I could do this safely and effectively. I have removed 2 moles from myself this way. Just tie a clean, dry piece of plain (not mint) dental floss as tightly as you can stand without being really uncomfortable, around the base of the mole you want to remove. Each day, you will need to remove the dental floss and tie a new piece a little tighter than the last.

What to expect:Day one or two: The mole will fill up with blood and swell a little.

Day Three or four: The mole will begin to dry up and shrivel.

Day five or six: the mole will become hard and look kind of like a dried up raisin.

Day seven or eight: By now the mole should be just attached by a small strand of skin, you can now just pull it off gently but firmly with only minimal discomfort.

This process may take a longer or shorter period of time depending on the size of the mole being removed.

As I said, I have done this twice now with two different mole on separate areas of my body with success and minimal discomfort. Much better than having a needle and knife procedure!

My doctor says people need to be more in control of their bodies and minor issues like these can be taken care of at home. I have to agree.

How can those wearing braces floss their teeth?

Special floss threaders are available to make flossing easier. Also if you have the glue on braces (unlike the wrap around, you just glue the brace on) the wire connecting the braces are in the way of flossing. So you have to use your floss and thread it into the wire and floss. (it's hard to floss the back ones) :(

How do you remove stuck dental floss?

I had to go to the dentist to get it removed. Another time, the dentist got it stuck and he had to send someone to the store to get some DENOTAPE, to remove it. Sometimes you can remove it by using a different dental floss of thinner or thicker consistency. I have found that Denotape works best on teeth that are very tight.

How many inches long should your floss be whenever you floss?

If you don't have braces, then dentists recommend using a floss string that's 18 inches long everytime you floss. Since that's too long, wrap the ends of the string around two fingers, one end for one hand and the other end for the other hand, to make the string shorter. For better results, keeping using a different spot of the floss to floss your teeth. If you have braces, you won't need to wrap the ends around your fingers, because the wires will be in your way.

How to Floss Thread?

Flossing can be somewhat impossible for people who have braces or other dental works. Now, you can make this easy by using the floss thread. It is a long piece of plastic that has a loop in the end. The end of the plastic is what is used to floss, enabling you to slip floss in between your teeth and bridge. This can be hard to use at first, but with practice and these tips, you will be able to perfect it in no time. So, take time and read these simple steps to help you understand the simple way of using floss thread. Step 1: Slipping and Holding The Floss Make sure to look for your gum line under your bridge, and slip the straight end of the floss thread there. Then, make sure that you pull the pointy end of the floss through the thread. Make sure you have a good grip on the floss by holding it with both hands, and simply floss normally. Just be careful when going around braces and other dental work. You should floss thoroughly, but slowly, on the dental works going through each tooth and section of the bridgework. Pull the floss to the other side when done cleaning. Step 2: Repetition While flossing, the best way to achieve a total clean is to repeat the process. Make sure that you reach up and down each tooth at least five times (if you feel this is not enough, it is ok to do more). Make sure that you always use fresh floss, so you can clean effectively. Flossing is an integral part of oral hygiene. It is recommended by a lot of dentists to remove the food stain and residue between your teeth. With the floss thread, it is even better, because it gives people with dental work, such as braces, a chance to floss. It is really hard to remove food for people with dental work. If you had a hard time with floss thread, it is advisable to buy thicker floss, which tends to make flossing easier.
