Dye spreads through the clothes in a washing machine when it starts rinsing. Whilst it is rinsing, the water will pick up the dye and then start it's usual spin, this will cause the dye to go all about the washing machine and the clothes pick it up ( The same principals of getting a stain on your t-shirt ), only when a dye is used the chances are it won't come out in a wash.
dye them black
Run empty cycles and use bleach. You may need to do this several times.Tide has a washing machine cleaner out now. Try that.
Someone may have used color dye in the machine. Make sure to separate the color clothing from the white. Or get a live in girlfriend to help you do lundry.
just leave it alone
You dye clothes in a washing machine by buying the packets of dye at a store and then you pour it in and then you let it set and voila it is dyed after you tale it out and dry it.
You can remove blue dye from yellow socks by using a product called Color Catcher. It is a sheet that gets placed in the washing machine drum and is manufactured by Shout.

No, rit red dye will not permanently stain the inside of your washing machine. However, when using red dye, I ALWAYS do a clear water wash afterwards to clear out any trace or granule of dye so that it does not affect my next load of laundry.

Many dark clothes, such as dark blue jeans or anything red, have some dye that has not adhered to the fabric. The first few times that it goes through the washing machine, the liquid and the heat will remove this dye. Normally the does not have much affect on the dark piece of clothing, instead it has an affect on the lighter clothes around it. This happens because the loose dye lands on light clothing, and can sometimes change the color noticeably.
