The secret ID is supposedly comprised of 5 undisplayeddigits of your trainer ID (meaning the ID is 10 digits long) and is presumably meant as an anti-cheating measure. However, it's been discovered and is an important piece of data to figure out in order to use certain cheating methods.

∙ 15y agoThere is no real way to view your Pokemon's secret ID. If you have Pokesav, you can view any Pokemon's Secret ID while editing your save file. However, do bear in mind that some people consider Pokesav as an unethical program as it allows you to do in minutes what legitimate players require thousands of hours to do.

∙ 14y agoAs far as I know there is no way to use a secret ID to find shiny Pokemon in Pokemon platinum, yet there is a action replay code which I can't locate at the moment may I recommend using http://www.Google.com .

The secret id will be displayed instead of your regular id on the Summary screen of any pokemon you caught. Notwithstanding, it is important to look at the summary of a pokemon YOU caught, not traded or whatever, as the secret id displayed would be wrong.

you have to get the DS action replay code and have an action replay to do it. theres no other way. i unfortunatly don't know the DS action replay code for the master key sorry ~Gracygoo

The Secret Key was avalible September 2009.
