How does a stewardship help farmers?

Stewardship of the land helps farmers. If they (the farmers) seed in stubble (not tilling the land prior to seeding) the stubble will keep the soil from blowing away when the land becomes dry until the new seeds can grow and the new plants can keep the soil in place. There are many other methods such as planting lots of trees called wind rows or wind brakes to prevent the wind from blowing the soil away. Trees and stubble also help hold the snow in place in the northern climates so there is more moisture in the ground in the spring. The proper use and amounts of fertilizers is also important in stewardship. the over use of anhydrous ammonia for one can dry out the soil almost to the point it will not absorb water. The military used this in world war 2 the dry out boggy land so they could build runways in the jungle. The Proper rotation of crops is also very important in stewardship. If the farmer does not rotate his crops the minerals in the ground that some crops absorb to grow will be used up and the soil becomes useless for that crop from many years.
