Before a female mouse gives birth, she will be scurrying about, looking for a quiet, secure place to have her young. If she has already found a place, she might also be busy collecting wood chips, straw, or tearing paper to insulate her nest. Before she gives birth, she will most likely be very nervous from being watched by humans, so give her privacy and quiet.

∙ 14y agook ok ok my mouse has been more active and eating and drinking alot more than usual and the male mouse and her mated and the next day he was dead. i want to know if my female (lightning) is pregnant?
Our pregnant mouse kept eating lots and taking food from her mate. I thought she was just making a pig of herself till she popped out 13 pups. It was at that point we discovered that our other girl mouse was in fact a boy. We had had them 6 weeks and the gestation period is 19 - 23 days.

∙ 14y agoIf you give the female some cotton balls, pieces of string, bits of clean paper or cardboard and a little box with a hole in it, she will build a nest to have the babies. When she stays in it most of the day, she is probably very close to birthing.
