If it is a female rabbit do NOT put another rabbit - male or female- in a female rabbit's cage. Females are very territorial (if you ever want to breed your rabbit, put the female in the buck's cage). Now, answering your question, rabbits do not often get lonely. They are not pack animals, and see little need for companions :).
Bunny's can be very sociable creature. Many love human attention as well as other animals. When you buy your bunny you should find out how it was socially brought up. like if it had other rabbits or loved people or cats, dogs etc. depending on the rabbits history, you should try to accommodate their wants. If the bunny is unsocial, then take time each day to play with it. At first just give it treats, then it may let you pat it. It is hard to say how to keep a rabbit company with out knowing the rabbit. the best bet is get another rabbit. if its a guy make shore you get it desexed first. I have two male rabbits, one is desexed, but the other isn't.
it would start to grind its teeth and just sit there.
Grinding teeth and just sitting there is also a sign of pain, so you should take it very seriously if your rabbit is doing this. If you think your rabbit is in pain, look for other signs of illness or injury. If you think your rabbit is sick or injured, you should bring it to a vet with experience in treating rabbits. See the related questions below for more details about rabbit health and vets.
Grinding teeth gently, quietly, and rhythmically is also a sign of contentment and pleasure (like a cat purring). This sound is pretty different from the louder, gritty sound of grinding teeth from pain.
One of the clearest signs of a bored rabbit is that it starts looking for trouble: electrical wires to bite, books to pull off shelves, carpeting to dig up, etc. But, when the rabbit's in the cage, it isn't always as clear - rattling the cage bars can be a sign, though.
Bored rabbits can become aggressive (growling or biting), reclusive (hiding from you, running away from you), depressed (showing no interest in anything), self-destructive (like biting and causing injury to its feet or other parts of its body), and/or obese.
If your rabbit doesn't play with any toys, graze on hay or twigs, hop and run around all excited, and/or snuggle with you or another animal, then no matter WHAT the signs: it's bored.
Rabbits, like all pets, need toys, play structure, society (your attention, and possibly other animal friends), and exercise, or else they won't be healthy. See the related questions below for more information about caring for rabbits and keeping them happy.
Rabbits should have toys, play structures (like a cardboard box), and hay in its cage so that it doesn't get bored.
Sometimes they will just peer out the window for hours other times they'll walk around in a slump, tail between their legs. They appear lethargic most of the time. Dogs really miss their owners and even if another pet in the house has to stay at the vets for a period of time then the dog will feel the loss. Also if another pet has died the dog will pine for that other pet. I have always had two dogs as they are company for each other and I also have a cat named Molly. Molly is a character and relies heavily on the dogs for friendship and she thinks she's a dog! LOL If you have a large dog you don't have to get another large dog, you could go to ASPCA and get a mid-sized dog and be sure they are the same sex. Make sure you give both pets equal amounts of your affection. Take them for walks (good for you as well) and play time is a must. I throw a ball or stick for my dogs and I have a feather on a flexible rod that I play with re my cat. I give each of them a lot of affection and have had no problems. All three pets are healthy and happy.
If your rabbit is unhappy, it might be aggressive, or destructive, or it might just act very bored (and boring). See the related questions and links below for more info.
it stop smiling and stop eating their carrots!
your dog usually lays down alot and looks out the door alot and when someone comes over they freek out .
Guinea pigs always need a friend of the same gender or they will always be lonely.
She'll run very fast, binky, flop on her side (because she'll be tired after running, isn't that right, cutie bunnies?), eat, sleep, drink water, and repeat the cycle.
