Fish eyes have a tough layer of scleral tissue covering their eyes, allowing them to see in water and eliminating the need for lids or coverings over the eyes. This means that a fish will not be able to clearly see us unless we are in the water with them, if they are looking out of a bowl or aquarium the glass would distort their vision.
