It is unusual for a church of God not to acknowledge the teachings of Peter and Paul, because the first church 'continued steadfastly' in their doctrines, as this Scripture in
Acts 2.42. says:
"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."
The restored church of god focuses their teachings on the old testament and the book of revelation. As their founder is Herbert W. Armstrong who refuses his doctrine to be identified with those of the evangelical christian teaching. The leader now is David C. Pack, he rarely mentions Christ's name, usually only at the end of his letters for co-workers and members, (especially when the letter concerns tithes and offerings). But the church insist the head of their church is Jesus Christ.
