Both the client and the server create a socket, but only the server binds the socket to a local endpoint. The server can then subsequently do a blocking readcall in which it waits for incoming data from any client. Likewise, after creating the socket, the client simply does a blocking call to write data to the server. There is no need to close a connection.

Implementing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) on the server.Answer Explanation: Although all of the options may be appropriate as part of your attempt to harden this Web server, the question focuses on providing a secure communications environment to clients when on the corporate Web site. The Secure Sockets Layer ( SSL) protocol helps to secure the data exchange between clients and the Internet server by encrypting the communication link between them.

What are LIF sockets?

LIF sockets stand for low insertion force. LIF sockets are sockets commonly used for early generation computer processors. LIF is used to provide an "interference fit" between two components (a plug and a socket) so that a small amount of force is required to engage them and fully use.

What is the difference between Linux and Windows in terms of interprocess communication?

They have different models of interprocess communication. In Windows, processes generally communicate to each other by sending "messages". These messages can carry some data. In Linux processes can communicate in a number of ways: * Sending Signals to each other (used for simple signalling, the signals do not carry data). * Using files and network sockets, which allows two-way communication between processes, but involves more programming overhead. * Other IPC (interprocess communication) methods such as System-V message queues, semaphores, and shared memory.
