the Buddha taught that life i full of suffering and unhappiness. this is caused when we have cravings and desire (which often cannot be fulfilled). sometimes if we get what we want we want even more. the Buddha describe this as thirst or Tanha. he also taught people to be kind and honest and respect the lives of other including animals. he believed that result of our action called karma. whether good or bad affect both in our lives. he taught people in prakrit so everyone can understand the message. thus Buddha tried to spread his message to people.

Then one day, while meditating under a tree, he received the meaning of life. Suffering comes from want! He wanted to be a poor man, and doing so, he suffered. He quickly told his friends and tried to spread the message to his city. The people of his city did not believe him. He was outraged! He was immediately thrown out of his own city! He left to the neighboring city where the people welcomed him. A little later, his home city let him back in. They had seen what he'd done to the other city and wanted to live like that. His message spread quickly throughout the world. People everywhere were becoming part of the Buddhist culture. Today people worship shrines and temples. They make a pilgrammige to visit the Buddha's home city at least once in their lifetime, if they can afford it. Buddhists try to live a life of peace. They follow an Eightfold path, they believe in karma, nirvana, and reincarnation. Buddhists try to help one another. And they always pray in the direction of the Buddha's city.
