How did Christianity impact society?

Well, first of all, many parents teach their children many of the "values" that are taught in Christianity, such as treating others with kindness and respect, being honest, and the difference between right and wrong. Without knowing it (sometimes) these parents are spreading the religion of Christianity.

Also, there are lots of stupid people in the world who don't care about anything like that. But there are also lots of good people who live the teachings of Christianity without knowing it. Then, let's say that they join a Christian church. They will tell their friends. One of their friends is also converted to Christianity. Then let's say that their friend decides to run for the President of the US. Then let's say he/she wins the election. Suddenly, the POTUS is a Christian, and everyone knows it. People wonder why the president is a Christian. So now every US citizen knows about Christians...

The laws of the land are mainly baised on the ten comandments. Such as no killin, stealing or comitting Because of this and knowing we have to answer to a living god.Makes us more careful n what we do.aduletry. Actually, I think there would be a law against killing, stealing,et. even if the government didn't have its roots in Christianity.And even with the ten commandments, there will always be murders and robberies.

There is no doubt that Christianity has played a positive role in society, and continues to do so. But, sadly, it also plays a very negative role.

Christian charities are well recognised for the help they provide to the needy. It is not always recognised that they often provide this help by collecting and using donations from people who, in the absence of religion, would likely still donate to secular charities.

Christian churches often provide excellent schools for their followers. On the other hand, until recently, they opposed the provision of equal education opportunities by the state. In Africa and elsewhere, it was often necessary for a black person to become a Christian even to receive access to schooling.

Christianity does not need to be associated with intolerance and bigotry, but often is. The southern slave-owners justified their right to own slaves, by reference to the Christian Bible. The Ku Klux Klan considered itself a Christian organisation. Much of the intolerance in the world today can be laid at the door of the Christian faith or other Abrahamic religions.

Paedophilia appears to be almost rampant in the Catholic Church, with little apparent effort on the part of the Church to bring the offending priests before the criminal courts, but it should be recognised that sexual abuse also occurs among the clergy of some other denominations. Until strong and decisive action is taken to remove this evil, organised Christianity will always impact society contrary to its own teachings.
