In the episode "Adventure TimePilot", Finn and Jake followed Lady Rainicorn to the ice kingdom where they both found out that the ice king had kidnapped one of the princesses (Princess Bubblegum). Finn saved her (but did not know who she was). Once he saved her, he brought her to the grass land's. Here's what happened:
Princess Bubblegum: Thank you for saving me, brave knight.
Finn: oh, I'm not a knight, I'm a boy.
Princess Bubblegum: Well thank you, brave boy.
Then she kissed him on the forehead and tats when he started to have a crush on her.
