Islamic culture influenced Spain in a number of ways.

Architecture in Spain was strongly enhanced by Muslims who brought new building designs. Most popular of these was the Mudejar Style, which was widely copied, especially in Southern Spain after the Muslims were forced out of power. Many of the former Mosques and Palaces built by the Muslims became Cathedrals and Summer Palaces for Spanish royals in the Renaissance period. The Muslims also pioneered more advanced and conservationist irrigation methods, which made it possible for the cities of Spain to grow. Islamic influence also changed the language drastically, giving the more guttural aspects of Spanish and a large number of Arabic loanwords. Artwork, music, traditions - all have been adopted as Spanish culture since the Moorish realm.
