The kiwi bird is native to New Zealand so I guess it came here in God's hand.
A2, The Kiwi is a member of a group of birds called the Ratites. These birds lack a keel bone in the chest, a bone to which flight muscles are attached. Thus, this group of birds never could have flown. (Consequently) their flight and tail feathers have regressed to decorative plumes.
This group includes the Rhea, Ostrich, Cassowary, Kiwi, Emu, Moa (NZ extinct.), and the 'Elephant Bird' of Madagascar. All these were regions of Gondwana.

He led the first British expedition to discover New Zealand and the first to set foot on new Zealand. Abel Tasman was the first European to sight New Zealand but did not land there. Captain James Cook was the first to circumnavigate and map New Zealand.
