How did Richard J. Gatling make the Gatling gun
The gatling gun was invented by Richard Gatling in 1861 (it was a common weapon in the American civil war, i must add).
The original Gatling gun was a black powder field weapon, which used multiple rotating barrels turned by a hand crank, and firing loose (no links or belt) metal cartridge ammunition using a gravity feed system from a hopper. It was first used by the Union Army during the American Civil War. Unlike earlier weapons such as the mitrailleuse which had limited capacity and long reloading times, the Gatling gun was more reliable, easy to load, and had a high firing rate. Gatling guns were used by the US side during the Spanish-American War, most notably during the battle of San Juan Hill. == == It was designed by (Jordan?) Gatling and first used in 1862 and later during the Civil War. Gatling continued to improve the original model with addition of more barrels and increasing the number of rounds fired in a given time. Eventually, it could fire over 1,000 rounds a minute.

Firstly, they came from different areas of the world Secondly, they had different names Thirdly, Saladin was a SULTAN and Richard was a KING Fourthly, they believed on different things Lastly, they were born from different parents.
It was probably made for Sears by one on the major pellet gun manufacturers in business in the thirties. Use a search engine for pellet 'gun repair' or 'air gun repair' and talk to those folks. They should be able to tell you what you have. You may have to show them pictures if you are able. berto

Dr. Richard J. Gatling in 1861.
Rather doubtful, since the weapon was named for it's inventor, Richard J. Gatling- note the G at the end.

He invented the first successful machine gun and improved toilets, bicycles, steam cleaning of raw wool, pneumatic power, and many other fields. Grady Haeffelin
It was an American inventor, Dr. Richard J who also invented the gataling gun
The Gatling gun was originally made around the time of the American civil war it was a crank operated 10 barrel machine gun that could fire up to 400 rounds per minute. One of the setbacks to this however was that your could melt the barrels or cook the rounds prematurely causing an explosion the only cure was to cool the barrels in cold water. the Gatling gun was made by B. J. Gatling. But that's just history the newer ones are used on the A10 "Warthog" air to ground air craft, and on some vehicles although the one on the A10 is FAR larger, effective and deadly due to is size.
The Gatling gun (1861) was one of the most well known rapid-fire weapons to be used in the 1860s by the Union forces of the Civil War, following the 1851 invention of the mitrailleuse by the Belgian Army. Although the first Gatling gun was capable of firing continuously, it required human power to crank it; as such it was not a true automatic weapon. Each barrel fired a single shot as it reached a certain point in the cycle after which it ejected the spent cartridge, loaded a new round, and in the process, cooled down somewhat. This configuration allowed higher rates of fire without the problem of an overheating single barrel. Some time later, Gatling-type weapons were invented that diverted a fraction of gas from the chamber to turn the barrels. Later still, electric motors supplied external power. The original Gatling gun was designed by the American inventor Dr. Richard J. Gatling in 1861 and patented in 1862.[1] He wrote that he made it to reduce the size of armies and so reduce the number of deaths by combat and disease.Direct copy from Wikipedia
