Most terrestrial animals can swim so it's likely that T.rex could as well.

This is because most animals have a specific gravity (or density) less than that of water, and therefore are buoyant.

T.rex had lung like those of birds; which have an 'air sack system' running around the front half of the body. Animals with air sacks have an even lower specific gravity than those with out air sacks and therefore are even more buoyant!

Presumably a T.rex would just have to kick it's legs back an forth like most other terrestrial animals that go for a swim.
