It was a tough sad time. People were looking for husbands, wives, children, and friends hoping they had lived through the fires and the fall of the buildings. Pictures of people were posted on walls and some people went from hospital to hospital to look for those who were lost. In the meantime people responded from all over the nation to help look for people buried in the rubble and try to clean up the mess. Thousands came to NYC to search, feed the searchers, help in any way that they could. Many went to church to pray and some looked to Bush for guidance. The last time that something like this happened was Pearl Harbor and many of us didn't remember that event or live through it. This was our Pearl Harbor.

First of all the attacks were not committed by Iraq, they were committed by Al-Qaeda terrorists which we traced down to residing in Iraq.

Secondly, this is how the U.S. responded. On September 11th, 2001 Al-Qaeda flew planes into the Twin Towers, killing almost 3,000 innocent people. In response the United States launched the War on terrorism. The U.S. invaded Afghanistan in an attempt to drive out the Taliban, who had harbored al-Qaeda terrorists. The United States also enacted the USA Patriot Act which increases the ability of law enforcement agencies to search records in order to find people planning these attacks and stop them before it happens.

Invaded their country and fell into the military industrial complex.
