By showing up with thousands of fresh healthy men. Europeans had been drained by 4 years of "human wave assaults" (trench warfare & massed infantry attacks); and those young healthy Europeans that weren't dead or maimed for life (wounded) were simply wore out. The US entered the war in 1917, the Great War (WWI) had already been going on for four years without the US in it. The US only fought for about 1 to 1 1/2 years (they weren't allowed to enter combat until the bugs were worked out by the General Staff; Whose going to command them, trench warfare indoctrination, etc.). The last thing the Central Powers (the enemy) needed or wanted was "a fresh healthy enemy to fight." With the entry of the US in 1917, the enemy received exactly that!
