Rosalind Franklin did not discover DNA. DNA was discovered long before she photographed the images via X-ray crystallography. With the help of these images, Watson and Crick were able to figure out the structure of the nucleic acid in 1953. Watson and Crick did not discover DNA either; they developed the concept of the "double helix," which was accepted as the structure of DNA.
Using the X-ray photo Rosalind Franklin had taken, Watson and Crick were able to conclude the fact that DNA is a double helix. Franklin's photo gave them an actual look at the DNA's structure.
He discovered the structure of DNA which is considered as the most excellent discovery of the 20th century with the help of Crick
It helped reveal the characteristic shape of a double helix
Well Im in 7th grade and from what i know (Im in honors) that they did not discover the double helix but they made a model of it. But it was actually Rosland Franklins work! Its actually pretty intresting! I hope that helped. ADD: Watson and Crick used the work of several scientists in order to develop their model of DNA and suggest a method of replication. Watson, Crick, and Maurice Wilkins received a Nobel Prize for their work on the structure of DNA. Rosalind Franklin did not receive the Nobel Prize because she had died of cancer before the Nobel Prize was given. If she had been alive she would have more than likely shared in the Nobel Prize.
No
James D Watson and Frances Crick used data from X-ray crystallography obtained formally by Rosalind Franklin, to work out the double-spiral structure of a DNA molecule. They achieved this in 1953 and were awarded, along with Maurice Wilkins awarded a Nobel Prize in 1962.
double helix
they deciphered the codes with DNA
dna was discovered long back.franklin took x-ray images of dna, with the help of which watson and crick were able to break the code of its structure.
With the help of Rosalind Franklin, Watson and Crick built a tin model of a DNA molecule that helped scientists better understand the structure of DNA.
Watson and Crick, i think? try researching them. have you tried researching the structure of dna? Hope i helped :) :P
