Actually, there was no person named Bubba Gump. That was the name of Gump's shrimp boat business. But Gump's friend Bubba Blue died from injuries in the Viet Nam War.
he got shot in the chest
the movie was not a true story, therfore he never did die
A Friend to Die For - 1994 TV is rated/received certificates of: Netherlands:6 UK:12 USA:TV-PG
Lt. Dan wanted to serve just as a veteran. He thought it was his fate to fight and die in the was, just like all the other males in his family did. it was his mission to die for his country while in Vietnam. As for Bubba, he went to war to fight and leave. He was just there to serve because he had to. It wasn't his life dream to die in the war like Lt. Dan. He had future plans to own a shrimping boat and pursue that life dream. So in conclusion, yes Lt. Dan and Bubba relate to the war in Vietnam differently.
The only one I can think of is Mrs. Gump. Bubba died in Viet Nam and Jenny died of AIDS which cannot be considered natural.
That he was a good Friend, and shouldn't have deserved to die
