Originally, Hip Hop was a movement started by poor people in big cities that were supposed to be luxurious, but turned out to be pretty disgraceful. People wanted a constructive way to have some fun, in a world where everyday they feared they would starve, or be shot at. Hip Hop was a relative way for all people to connect, and loose their fear, and actually have something to live for, and get this - it was free. People with no money could do it too. Disc Jockeys (DJ's) would set up at the park, and people would Rap or freestyle about the good in life, and B-boys and B-girls (break dancers) would break it down, and everyone had fun. They all just raised their hands in the air, and forgot their despair. Then, the Gangster Rap era came around. Bug mistake. Now Dope MC's who ran the streets messed peoples lives up again. Then Hip Hop kept evolving more and more, until now. Now we have profane Hip Hop, that most parents would not let their kids listen to if they heard. There are only a few artists today who actually have authentic, transparent music. Some examples of these are, Lecrae, Tedashii, Theory Hazit, and Urban D.
