Housing changed in their styles, costs, building materials and mortgaging methods. In Britain they had special programs for the people who lost their homes which helped them get a new house and the homes where quickly built stick frame homes rather than the older brick styles of the homes that were bombed.

In the USA new homes were built in the development style where all the homes looked basically alike and were approximately the same price as set by the developer. There were GI programs that helped the GIs to buy new homes.

This trend of developer communities continued to this present day.
