Maldives got its name during a chain of changes. There are lots of details about it, with a lot of dates, but I will leave all that aside and tell you the most important parts.
First, when Muhammadh Thakurufaanu became the Sultan of Maldives. He called Maldives Al Daulat min al- Mahaldibiyat.
During the 18th and 19th Century, Maldives was known as Maldiva Islands in amny English records. And in the 20th Century, Maldives got the name the Maldive Islands, or the Maldives. Now it is The Repulic of Maldives, better known as Maldives.
There is multiple airports in Maldives, but the four International airports are located on Gan Island, Hulhule Island, Hanimaadhoo Island, and Maamigili Island.
