How did people communicate 25 years ago?

They wrote letters and talked on the telephone. They communicated in person much like today. But telephones were wired and modems were slow, so the cell phone and internet communication that we have come to think of as normal wasn't there. You had to travel to a phone to be able to make a call, and information was much less accessible on the computer. People had to go to libraries or use paper encyclopedias to look things up.
