the industrial era came in. Factories were producing. There were women working 14 to 16 hours under hard conditions. The Shirtwaist factory fire where 146 people mostly women died was to me the event that starting changing working conditions. the factory was replaced easily, the women lost with their expertice in clothing manufacturing was very hard to replace.

The conditions were horrible for example it was really dirty, overcrowded, dangerous and also unhealthy
