The microscope gave conclusions and observations to the cell theory.
They used the microscope invention to look at cells and what they do from close up, but still safe.
it help us to see the cells physically.

because cells are too small to see with the naked eye. if you get a microscope, you can see them. seeing=believing. so, theory proved.

I believe it was the microscope
it help us to see the cells physically.
The invention of the microscope allowed scientists to view cells and study them. Electron microscopes help us to view things even smaller than cells such as cell organelles.

because it gave him an understanding of the three required areas
The invention of the microscope and the improvements made to microscopes since their invention have opened up "whole new worlds" of organisms that before were not seen by the naked eye. Once it was realized that "microscopic" organisms existed, it was just a matter of scientific investigation that scientists were able to determine the importance of bacteria (and much later viruses) were both beneficial and harmful (disease causing). Without the microscope we would not have understood the major disease causing mechanisms that we know today nor would we have produced antibiotics and antiviral drugs to treat the diseases these organisms caused. This is an ongoing endeavor as the microscopic world is still very much uncharted and misunderstood!
You use the classification keys in a field guide to help you identify organisms. Resources: A Science Book
I would have to say a telescope/microscope. with the invention of them they helped expand our world to better understand it.
Living things that can only be seen with the help of microscope are called "MICROBES" or "MICRO-ORGANISMS".
