Because of Jesus' death, we now believe that we are forgiven. How this works:

  • Before Jesus' death, the Jewish people sacrificed animals so that their sins could be forgiven. They did this because God cannot live with injustice and so they would give up an animal for doing things which are wrong.
  • God sent Jesus to Earth as a man, knowing that Jesus would be killed, so that we could be forgiven without sacrificing animals. Jesus was so perfect He made up for every single sin anyone in history ever commited.

So we now live without guilt for sins we have asked to be forgiven. We also know that we are supposed to love every one with brotherly love, and try our best to do that. We know that we shouldn't reject anyone because of anything about them. We follow Jesus as an example, trying our best to be selfless even though we are not perfect.

Christianity is based on the death and resurrection of Jesus.

The English word Christian is translated from the Greek christianos, a word signifying an adherent of Jesus and is found in Act_11:26; Act_26:28; 1Pe_4:16.

After the death of Jesus his followers were disillusioned and it seems they went back to what they were doing before they began following Jesus. But after his resurrection and appearance to many (1Co 15:6 ) and then his ascension to heaven many of his followers took Jesus' message of salvation to the world.

He came to the world to show us how God wants us to live our life. The Bible is a gift God gave us to get to Paradise. He has been so good with us that even let us have an entire book telling us what to do if we want to go to Heaven. Jesus wrote that book, the Holy Bible, for us to read it and not burn in hell. He loves us, and died for us. Even when he could have burned us all with just snapping his fingers, he suffered for us to be able to go to Heaven. He wanted to prove us his existence, and rose from the dead. He actually lived again after his death, and flew to Heaven. If you are not a Christian, if you are, if you just cant believe, it doesn't matter. Jesus loves you, and died for you too. I hope you accept him into your life. Have a nice day:)

The mainstream view is that Jesus of Nazareth founded Christianity. Another view is that Christianity already existed, and that the story of Jesus of Nazareth, a wandering preacher, was absorbed into the faith. Yet another view is that Christianity is not based on Jesus of Nazareth at all, and that Mark's Gospel invents him.
