That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee (Matthew 11.24)

∙ 11y agoJesus was very popular with the masses. The poor and oppressed found hope in His sermons. Many would walk great distances just to hear Him preach. This seemed very threatening to the more influential rabbi's and priests, which is why He was condemned.

∙ 11y agoThe crowds were fickle. Many loved Him early in His ministry. Many of the crowds adored the things he did: miracles, healings, food, etc. The crowds were enthusiastic on Palm Sunday, and on Good Friday were calling for His death.
