Family life was emphasized as the 50's approached. Familys and the suburbs all had a leave it to beaver atmosphere to them. this was spurred by the baby boomers, which were couples having kids because the men were back from the war. Although women gained some respect during the war as they held production jobs, they were stuck in domestic roles again after World War 2.
