California quails nest in dead bushes in small holes covered by a nest wall. they are also located up against something very hidden. the eggs have dark brown speckles and are a little bigger than a quarter. quails breed and lay their eggs in April and early may but could lay eggs in early summer. if its not spring try and catch a young quail by putting food only the babies eat in a trap as bait.
