can a pharmacy tech discuss a person prescription records with non-pharmacy staff
Yes. The pharmacy isn't esentially selling your records, but in order for the pharmacy that is acquiring the business to be able to provide you with services, they would have to have your records. Some people get upset when pharmacies go out of business and transfer files, but it has to be done because the law requires that files such as hard copies of prescriptions be kept for a certain number of years, so the acquiring pharmacy would be legally obligated to keep those records. You are not obligated to use the acquiring pharmacy, however. You are still free to get your prescriptions filled at a pharmacy of your choosing.
Contact the doctor's office or pharmacy.
You can request anybodys record from their pharmacy, if you pay the pharmacist and their staff in secret, and request it from rite-aid because rite aid does not maintain confidentiality. I requested records from 2 people i hated from rite aid's pharmacy and used that info to get revenge.
The prescriptions are filed at the pharmacy for up to 2 years. They can be inspected at any time and matched with the doctor's records.
To obtain pharmacy records from Eckerd for the period of 2003 to 2005, you should start by contacting the Eckerd pharmacy location directly where the records were held. If the specific store is no longer in operation, reach out to the corporate office or the parent company, which is now part of CVS Health, for guidance on accessing archived records. Be prepared to provide identification and any relevant details, such as prescription numbers or dates, to assist in the retrieval process.
Visit the pharmacy and ask them for a printout of your records. They will ask you for the date range that you would like printed.
Equipment used in pharmacy may include prescription scales, pill counters, mortars and pestles, laminar flow hoods, automatic medication dispensers, and computers for managing patient records and orders.
We do. In our computer system at the retail level, intercom plus, can access the last 2 years of your records. There is a phone number to contact custodian of records that keeps all pharmacy records for the last 10 years.
I would think if the owner goes to jail, he won't have need of the pharmacy for awhile, but depending on what he's going to jail for, the pharmacy may still be able to operate. That would be for the court to decide. It may be that the pharmacist(s) working for him could pay the rent and keep it open or even buy the place. If the owner was the pharmacist as well and drugs were sold illegally, though, I'd imagine the DEA will have the pharmacy business license revoked and the police will take possession of all the pharmacy's stock and records.
The pharmacy records are a part of the business, and are usually transferred to another nearby location within the company, or sold contractually to another company. Supervalu must notify its patients as to where the records are being transferred. If the patient does not wish to use the new location for prescription services, the patient merely contacts his/her pharmacy of choice to request that the prescription records be transferred out. This transfer can be done over the phone, between the pharmacists from each respective location, during normal business hours when both pharmacies are open. Maureen C. RPh
