A Likert Scale Questionnaire is one where the subjects are asked to mark how much they agree with the point of view in the item. Rensis Likert devised it first.
An item in a Likert Questionnaire could be "People who commit murder should be executed."
The format for a five-point Likert scale could be:
# Strongly disagree # Disagree # Neither agree nor disagree # Agree # Strongly Agree The results are either analyzed separately, or the whole scale may be totalled or summed. Because of this, Likert Scales are often called "Summative Scales".
To create a Likert scale questionnaire, first define the statements or questions to be rated. Then, choose a scale, such as a 5-point scale ranging from "Strongly Disagree" to "Strongly Agree." Next, present the statements along with the scale and ask respondents to select the option that best represents their opinion. Finally, analyze the responses by calculating averages or percentages for each statement.
Likert scale (agree strongly, agree, neutral, disagree, disagree strongly), academic grade levels (A, B, C, D, F), rankings (1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place).
The homophone for "scale" is "scale," which could refer to scale as in a fish scale or to scale, like the one you step on to weigh yourself.
The word "chestionare" translates to "questionnaires" in English. It refers to a set of questions used for collecting information or feedback from individuals.
The French word for quiz is "quiz" (pronounced keez). It is the same as in English.
The participants in the study were asked to complete a questionnaire about their dietary habits.
real definition of likert scale?
Assessment could include statements reflecting beliefs about control over oneβs life (internal locus) and control by external forces (external locus). Participants rate their agreement on a scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree, indicating their perception of control. Scores are analyzed to determine the degree of internal versus external locus of control in individuals.
It depends on the specific likert scale, but generally it is the ordinal level
Can a 3-point scale also be called a Likert scale?? PS
Quantitative
A Likert scale is considered a quantitative measurement tool because it assigns numerical values to responses and allows for numerical analysis of data.
The Likert type question is used to determine the respondent attitude or feeling on a particular specific item. There are numerous ways to set up the answer types on the Likert scale; see the related links.

I made up a questionnaire of 35 questions comprised of mostly close-ended questions and Likert scale. I tested reliability of my questionnaire though SPSS and it gives me a result which shows if i delete more than 15 questions, my questionnaire will be reliable. But then i am afraid my questionnaire will get very short and i might get questioned on my defense day. So what is the right number of questions that are enough for an APA style quantitative research method? (research is on women higher education, resources and hurdles)
The Likert Scale
See the related link for more information. The Likert scale with 5 points typically has a middle neutral (neither agree or disagree) choice. In the 4-point scale, the neutral choice is removed, so that person who is uncertain is forced to lean (even if slightly) one way or the other.
its mostly used in scaling responses in questioners and surveys
