It has been 14 years since I played this but my family loved it and my parents played it a lot. From what I remember it is best to have 4 or more people.Use two decks or more if needed for the number playing. Use jokers. Deal 11 cards. Put one face up in discard pile next to stack for drawing cards. The "May I" comes in if you want the card face up on the pile. Everyone discards a card after their turn. If the next player or anyone before your turn wants the card you can't "May I". If you are told yes then take the card and an extra from the draw pile. Then the next player draws a card and so on... The rounds go like this 1.) Two sets (sets are three or more of the same card) 2.) One set and One run (A run is a 4 card sequence of the same suit like Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of Hearts). 3.) Two Runs. 4) Three Sets. 5.) Two Sets and one Run. 6.) Two Runs and one Set. 7.) Pat hand. This means one, two, or three Runs with no discard when you lay down.
In hands 1 through 6 after a player lays down their hand they may play cards on other players Sets and Runs. The player with no cards left in their hand after a discard wins the round in 1 through 6. In round 7 the player who lays down first has no discard so therefore wins.
We used to put in forty five cents in the pot and when you won a round you got a nickle for each player every round and the remainder was the pot of money that went to the person with the lowest score. Scoring was calculated rounds 1 through 6 by the remainder of cards in each hand when someone went out. Jokers are wild cards and are 25 points. 2 through 10 are face value and Jacks are 11, Queens 12, Kings 13, and Aces 15.
You also count the cards for scoring in round 7 for those that did not win. Sorry I forgot that! Sometimes people would try to keep lower hands if they did not win the round they may still be low score and get the pot.
