There are 3 screws in the battery compartment, remove them.
Starting from the bottom end pry apart the slit. I use a guitar pick but a thin slot screwdriver or a putty knife will work. The silver trim will stay on the bottom and the top panel will lever up.
This is very tight and you will most likely leave tool marks on the bottom.

Remove the heater control switch decorative cover. Remove the retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new switch.
