If you want cat to stop scratching the dining room table what you do is you give him/her a pop on the nose and say NO BAD CAT that what I do to my cat and she stop then him/her would know you mad. There are little sticky strips you can buy in some places. You can stick them onto the the dining room table and when the cats scratches the strip, it won't like the feeling and it either might not scratch the table that often anymore or stop.

∙ 12y agoYou could use a spray bottle whenever they go on. Give them a squirt and tell them firmly, "No." Be consistent. If you do this you are gonna have to keep doing it. if you use this technque don't use it for anything else otherwise you will confuse them. don't spray to much water or they will get cold or you will soak your furniture. you could also spray the sofa with something that they dislike so they will stay away.
To keep cats off furniture, you should probablly buy it a scratching post infused with catnip so that it keeps going back for more and more. Or you can buy the product Emery cat that files their nails.
