With satellite imagery, one can see images of photographs of any place on Earth. Satellite imagery is more detailed and clearer than Infrared images.
Photographs can't... infrared is a possibility.

Some are satellite and others are aerial (taken from airplanes with special high resolution cameras and also from air balloons). Street View photos, however, are taken from car, van, or bicycle.
Maps may be drawn to scale or not to show more or less detail as needed. Satellite images on the other hand are actual photographs of what the ground and landscape are at a particular time. Both have many uses and tools like Google Maps allow you to switch from a map/street view to a satellite view with a click of the mouse.
