To be chemically stable, the atom must have the same amount of protons and electrons.
An atom can become stable by either 1) losing an electron, 2) gaining an electron, or 3) sharing electrons (this only happens between two molecules)
The stability of an atom means complete outermost shell or octet this may be acquire by three ways, 1- by gain of electrons, 2- by loss of electrons and 3- by sharing of electrons.
By bonding with atoms which have the appropriate valencies needed.
Unstable atoms, like your alkaline metals(correct me if I'm wrong) gain stability by finishing off their valence electron count, in the outer most shell that orbits around the nucleus. the first electron shell can hold 2 electrons, 2nd can hold eight, etc. So for example, Carbon has 6 electrons. That means that its first shell is filled and the second is half-way filled.Because it needs 8 valence electrons in that second shell to be stable, it will search for 4 bonds with say hydrogen. Hydrogen only needs one bond, so it would have to pair with 4 hydrogens to be satisfied. The more filled the valence shell, or last shell, is filled, the more stable it will be.
USA senators serve a six year term.
Here area list of ways atoms could be stable and unstable
1. Eelectromagnetic fields cause like charges to repel each other and unlike charges to attract each other.2. The protons stay together in the nucleus because the strong force opposes and overcomes the forces of repulsion from the electromagnetic field.3. Binding energy is the energy that is associated with the strong force, and this energy holds the nucleus together.4. A stable atom is an atom that has enough binding energy to hold the nucleus together permanently.5. An unstable atom does not have enough binding energy to hold the nucleus together permanently and is called a radioactive atomAlso, if you want to know the elements in the periodic table there is a chart attached to this:atoms become stable because they combine to other atoms
Atoms become more stable by forming bonds with other atoms. The atoms will do this by gaining or losing electrons.
1. lose one or more electrons
2. pick up one or more stray electrons
3. form a chemical bond so that it can share one or more electrons
Through what three ways can we control the motion of our cars?
Heat moves in three ways: Radiation, conduction, and convection.
heat can be transfered in three ways... 1. conduction 2.convection 3. radiation
three diffrent ways liht interacts with matter is absorbed, reflected, transmitted and refracted. =)
the three ways that charge may be transferred are through friction, charge polarization, and grounding.
It may lose or gain an electron in its valence shell.
methods in which an atom can gain energy
Graphite, Diamond, and Buckminsterfullerene, if that's what you were looking for.
Sit-ins, freedom rides, and marches are some non-violent ways in which African Americans used passive resistance gain civil rights.
atoms are most stable when they have filled the outer shell of electrons which normally holds a max of 8. so if an atom has 1 electron in its outer layer getting rid of it will give him stability, in much the same way having 7 electrons will mean gaining one electron will give it stability. now lets say the two meet, they react with each other and everybody is happy. It is thought than when two elements react, they are trying to acheive a "perfect" electronic configuration (i.e. have a full outer shell). The more electrons needs to lose/gain before acheiving this stability determines its reactivity.
There are three main ways to gain access to UCL webmail. These ways include being a current student at UCL, a professor at UCL, or a member of the alumni.
Interest and capital gain are two ways of earning gain from stock.
Economic stability is measured in two ways. First it can be measured by the coefficient of variation (stability of output growth) or secondly by the 10 year average for inflation.
Bacteria can gain energy through processes like photosynthesis (using light to create energy), chemosynthesis (using inorganic compounds to create energy), and fermentation (breaking down organic compounds without oxygen). These processes allow bacteria to produce ATP, the cell's energy currency, to carry out essential functions.
Neglect of physical and emotional needs may be identified through physical signs such as poor hygiene, unexplained injuries, or weight loss. Emotional signs could include withdrawal, depression, or sudden changes in behavior. Observing overall decline in health or functioning can also indicate neglect of physical and emotional needs.
The three ways that women tried to gain the right to vote are: They tried to convince state legislatures; They attempted to get state governments to grant them sufferage, but only a few did. They went to court to clarify whether the provisions of the 14th amendment meant women should be allowed to vote. They pushed for a national constitutional amendment.
