I have actually done this on the beach in the summer. If you walk barefoot on hot sand, it feels hot. I didn't get any actual blisters, though.
No it may not bleed , but you could get blisters.
yes I had my feet burnt by sand
so that if the sand is hot there hoofs protect there feet!
This is called conduction it is a scientific name
Camels have feet made for the desert. Their feet are flat , wide, and covered with thick, leathery pads which allow them to walk on hot sand without sinking from their massive weight.
I believe it is the Lacerta agilis (sand lizard) according to san Diego zoo "To protect its feet from the hot sand, the sand lizard (Lacerta agilis) by lifting its legs up quickly, one at a time, or by resting its belly on the sand and lifting up all four legs at once!" http://www.sandiegozoo.org/animalbytes/t-lizard.HTML
The flip-flops will help to insulate your feet from the hot sand. Additionally - they will protect you feet from small pebbles.
The sand at our beach is mostly quartz rock. It is a medium grain sand and is suitable for barefoot walks. On hot days watch out, it may burn your feet.
I believe so,considering it would result in unbearably painful blisters on their feet. Remember, these guys live in a nation loaded with sand and they didn't have paved roads way back then (which may be hotter with the glaring sun). They basically wore wooden sandals just to meep from touching the hot sand. If you've ever gone to a beach and walked barefoot. Isn't the sand real hot at times; Well, in Africa the is more times than none nothing but dry heat, which means hotter sands then here.
I use cold.
