Blobfish are filterfeeders, meaning they strain food such as sea urchins, crustaceans and other particles from the water. Their lack of muscle limits their abilities to catch "prey" drastically.

∙ 9y agoWell, the Blobfish doesn't really do any catching - it just eats whatever comes close to it during its floating. So for example, if a curious but tasty crab decided to get a closer look at whatever this blob-floating-in-the-bottom-of-the-ocean was, the Blobfish would just open its mouth, maybe move a little bit, and then eat the crab whole.
