Bobcats don't really make their shelter they find it, usually some sort of den. They often have several dens they can use as needed. The main or natal den is often a cave but they will use a hollow log in a pinch. They will also have a couple of auxiliary dens on the outskirts of their territory. The backup dens will just be sheltered place, such as fallen trees or heavy brush piles.
The Bobcat (Lynx rufus) has a well-defined territory which it marks. In its territory a Bobcat will have multiple shelters, usually with one main den, and several auxiliary shelters. These shelters can be hollow logs, thickets, or rock ledges.
Bobcats do not "build" a home, but den up in caves, under large fallen trees, dense thickets.
