Caterpillars are born......
First, they make a concoon and it takes about 2 weeks for some, others take months.
Then, it goes through a cycle.....
Finally, it comes out of its concoon and turned into a butterfly.
Caterpillars do not reproduce. They are the larval feeding stage of moths and butterflies. Caterpillars hatch from eggs, grow by eating mostly leaves, then cocoon themselves in a chrysalis and undergo metamorphosis to become a moth or butterfly. The moths or butterflies feed on nectar, eventually mate and the females lay eggs that hatch into caterpillars.
They don't. Caterpillars are the larval stage of moths and butterflies. When moth eggs hatch into caterpillars, they grow and eat until they can pupate (cocoon themselves). While in the pupa stage, the caterpillar metamorphoses into the adult moth, which can then mate and lay eggs, and begin the cycle again.
Caterpillars do not give birth. After the caterpillar undergoes metamorphosis, it might lay eggs, but that's pretty much it. A caterpillar doesn't lay eggs at after the caterpillar grows up into a butterfly, then it lays the eggs which turn into baby caterpillars.
Generally they become Butterflies or Moths then these Adult Insects mate and the females lay eggs which in turn become larvae that is Caterpillars. The Caterpillars do not themselves breed.
Caterpillars do not mate. They are immature butterflies or moths. They change into a butterfly and then they mate.
Caterpillars do not breed. They are the larval stage of butterflies and moths. After a few days of coming out of it's pupal stage, a butterfly or moth will search for a mate.
they dont butterflies lay the eggs :)
By simply.... cracking the egg!
Caterpillars do not mate. They reproduce by laying eggs, which then hatch into caterpillars. After undergoing metamorphosis, the adult butterflies or moths mate to continue the cycle.
No only if they are adults(butterflies)
no they dont but the can hurt other animals and also can somtimes bite us! i love caterpillars x
If male moths are trapped, fewer caterpillars will result due to not having been able to mate with the females. There are over 140,000 species of these insects in the world.
The larvae emerge as caterpillars.
Preparing nest , mate ,hunt caterpillars , store food in nest ,lay eggs close the nest .
caterpillars are in their larval stage, the only goal they have is to eat until they are ready to pupate. Butterflies are in their adult stage, their goal is to mate and lay eggs(female of coarse) in the short time they have left(avrg 2-4 weeks with some exceptions)
Easy black swallowtail caterpillars are smaller caterpillars. SwallowTail caterpillars are bigger than black swallow tail caterpillars
Inchworms, also known as caterpillars, do not mate in the traditional sense. Instead, they go through the process of metamorphosis, forming a chrysalis or cocoon before emerging as adult moths or butterflies. The adult moths or butterflies then engage in mating behavior to reproduce.
A group of caterpillars is called an army of caterpillars.
no caterpillars dont eat other caterpillars or people they eat plants and protein.
The collective noun is an army of caterpillars.
