hi im Annie and i have a gecko so this is what i did You need to feed your gecko insects like crickets, locusts, mealworms or you can feed it pinky mice(dead baby mice). you need a heat mat or something to heat up the tank and the tank has to be fairly big because my gecko loves to explore her tank also put sand in the tank to make it look a bit more like her home and you can put like small plants into it aswell or bridges or big chunk of wood for it to climb on or anything really to make it look like her home in the wild.p.s. are you getting a gecko if you are what kind of gecko because i have a leopard gecko? When i found out i was getting a gecko i couldn't believe my mum was really letting me have 1 but then i found out that it was proberly dead because no one was looking after it for a whole month. so my granda went to see if it was alive and it was!!!!!!it survived 4 a month without any food, water or sunlight!!!!!! xx Annie xx

As would any species of animals. In the rain forests, geckos species lap water off of trunks of trees and leaf debris. In the deserts and dryer climates they would most likely find small puddles within rock crevices or small watering holes.

Geckos survive in the wild by hiding in trees and tall grasses. A Gecko likes to eat insects and some fruits. Geckos really love to eat mangoes and bananas.

When a predator (or indeed human) grabs it, the gecko will drop it's tail. While the predator is busy eating the tail, the gecko runs away to safety. It will soon grow a new tail.

Food

Many species will, in defense, expel a foul-smelling material and feces onto their aggressors. They are also known to change colors within their environment and temperatures.

Is it safe to have geckos running free in your home they are not store bought they are wild?

It depends what breed they are really, also it is illegal in some countries to take geckos and skinks from the wild, such as new zealand. Tiny pink geckos in American Southwest often live in homes, and are useful to help control small bugs.
