I changed the blade belt on my Murray mower. Now one blade stops and goes. If I lower the deck the blade stop . What did I do wrong?

You can lift a riding lawn mower with a car or floor jack in order to change the blades. Simply place the jack under the frame of the lawn mower but away from the blades to lift it. Then, block the mower up using bricks or concrete blocks.

A 17.5 horsepower Murray riding lawnmower should always have 1.5 quarts of oil in it. You may have to add more than that after an oil change because some of the oil will go down into the oil filter.

One of several reasons: (1) the blades need sharpening; (2) you are trying to mow at a higher speed than is required; (3) one or both blades are installed upside down; (4)one or both blades are bent. My best guess is (1) and/or (2).
